25 Great RV Resorts Just a Day’s Drive from Humble, TX

Gulf Shores, ALOf all the places in the U.S. to own an RV, Southeast Texas has got to be one of the best. Not only are there lush forests and high mountains to experience, there are also vast, dry deserts and sandy beaches to take in. The amount of diversity that Texas offers coupled with a high number of exciting RV destinations means that a good time is always just around the corner.

For those of us who live in the Humble, TX area, there are plenty of wondrous adventures available to us, and the best way to experience them is to hop behind the wheel of your home on wheels and hit the road. Grab a pen and get ready to take some notes. We’ve narrowed down some of the best destinations for you to consider, and the best news is that they’re all just a day’s drive from the Houston area.

 

4 Hrs or Less from Humble

River Ranch RV Resort – Texas
This resort is right on the Guadalupe, and it’s the perfect place to rent a kayak and explore a peaceful part of the river. There’s a bit of noise from the freeway bridges, but the bridges add to the beauty of the river and you do get used to the background noise. It’s pet friendly and the grounds are in great shape.

Buckhorn Lake RV Resort – Texas
No matter what size of RV you drive or how long you intend to stay, Buckhorn Lake has got you covered. It’s close to some great shopping and dining options, it’s pristine and tidy, and provides extensive indoor and outdoor amenities.

Alsatian RV Resort – Texas
Top notch RV park not far from San Antonio. The lots are all concrete, which makes leveling your RV or trailer a cinch. Public restrooms and showers are spacious and meticulously maintained. There’s a golf course nearby and a fantastic little restaurant called Julianna’s connected to the main office that you’ll really like.

Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort – Texas
Really a nice RV park in close proximity to SeaWorld in San Antonio, obviously a huge plus for couples, groups and families. They have all the amenities including a luxurious lagoon swimming pool, an arcade, and 8,000 sq. ft. clubhouse. It’s a family favorite and easily one of the best RV destinations in Texas.

Southern Oaks Luxury RV Resort – Texas
Just 20 minutes from Corpus, this resort is known for its hospitality, cleanliness and beauty. Paved roads throughout, cement RV pads, and plenty of space between buildings and lots. Laundry facility and pool are always in tip top shape thanks to the hard working owners and staff. It’s close to great shopping and the ferry to Port Aransas on Mustang Island. Great for extended stays.

 Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Guadalupe River – Texas
For kids, this RV park is up there with the best of them. Roomy, full hook-up sites near the Guadalupe River, super friendly staff, extraordinarily well maintained and they also offer fully furnished cabins. If you’re lucky, the fun little Texas Saloon will have live music playing which really adds to the overall experience.

Betty’s RV Park – Louisiana
Some of you might be wondering how this rustic little park made the list, but it’s really unique and not your typical RV resort. Much more intimate and homey. It’s got a real back yard vibe to it – mostly because the park is literally in Betty’s back yard. For example, there’s a happy hour in Betty’s living room and you may get a chance to visit with some of the locals who frequently visit Betty’s porch. Communal meals are a regular thing. Think pot luck. It’s like being part of a family you never knew you had, which helps make up for the lean amenities. Highly recommended.

 

5.5 Hrs from Humble

Fontainebleau State Park – Louisiana
If you’re one for long walks on the beach, nature trails and family fun, then put Fontainebleau State Park on top of your list. Something unique about this place is you can find nice, secluded little areas for picnics, and it’s only about an hour away from New Orleans. It’s a beautiful destination, and the drive getting there is incredible.

Riverview RV Park – Louisiana
Situated on the Mississippi River, and close to Natchez, the best part about staying at this RV park is watching boats and barges navigate their way on the river. There’s a paved bike/walking trail several miles long. The lots are spacious, long and level. And, there’s a super Walmart just minutes away so you can stock up on supplies while you’re there.

 

6.5 Hrs from Humble

Catherine’s Landing – Arkansas
Catherine’s Landing is a beautiful place to stay and provides some great accommodations such as: disc golf, a splash pad and pool, fishing pond, canoe and kayak rentals, exclusive lakeside lots, a zip line, bike and golf cart rentals, a couple dog parks and the list goes on. If yurts are your thing, then definitely look into the ones here. They’re tucked back into the woods and look really cool.

Majestic Oaks RV Resort – Mississippi
Known for it’s big, mature live oak trees and quiet environment, Majestic Oaks is a hidden gem. The RV lots and swimming pool are on the smaller side, and it’s not on the beach, however the friendly staff, free WiFi, and complimentary meal on Saturday afternoons makes for a memorable stay.

Twin Fountains RV Park – Oklahoma
Complete with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, full bar and grill, this resort has it all. Immaculate grounds and plenty of things to do to keep your kids or pets happy – including putt putt golf, a fishing pond, and a nice dog run.

 

7.5 Hrs from Humble

Bella Terra of Gulf Shores – Alabama
It’s a class A resort in every possible way. It’s simply gorgeous, and there isn’t an amenity they don’t have. Moreover, it’s close to Pensacola, Perdido Key and Orange Beach. The only drawback is, no other RV resort will be the same after staying at the amazing Bella Terra.

Buena Vista Coastal RV Resort – Alabama
Cleanliness is next to Godliness, and this resort lives by that motto. Not literally, but you get the point. It’s clean, clean, clean. The owners are extremely nice, along with the staff, and they’ll make it their mission to ensure you are feeling at home and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The lazy river is a great way to end a day of sun and fun at the beach.

Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort – Alabama
Beautiful trails, grounds and amenities are just part of what makes Pandion Ridge a wonderful place to stay. You can fish, feed turtles, enjoy a plethora of trails that lead to the state park that you can take on bike or on foot, however you prefer. If you’re one to get out and enjoy your surroundings in a variety of ways, then this resort’s for you.

Lake Osprey RV Resort – Alabama
Lake Osprey is a first class resort, truly. The clubhouse and pool are some of the nicest you’ll ever see at an RV resort. The owners pay close attention to the details and you’ll pick that up no matter what you’re doing or where you’re at. Pickleball is a popular activity here. If you’re intending to spend some time at Gulf Shores/Orange Beach areas and want to be close to restaurants, boating, entertainment and excellent beaches, this is the place you’ll want to stay.

Bay Palms RV Resort – Alabama
Bay Palms isn’t the most spacious resort, but it is gated, well maintained and quiet. You’re only 10 minutes to the beaches at Daupin Island, and close to some great seafood in Bayou La Batre. If high end luxury isn’t really your thing, and you’re into socializing and the whole Gulf Coast vibe, then this place is a solid choice.

Gulf Shores Luxury RV – Alabama
If you want to be close, and I mean within walking distance, to the beach, great restaurants and a place to buy groceries then Luxury RV is your ticket. There aren’t any other resorts that are as conveniently located as Luxury RV. Real fabulous place – great pizza, seafood and ice cream right close by.

 

8.5 Hrs from Humble

Destin West RV Resort – Florida
If your goal is to play and relax at a beach resort, this is it. The grounds here are beautifully manicured, the pool is heated and roomy, and you get full access to the hotel’s private beach area just across the street. It’s also close to some great dining and shopping. You’ll have a good time at Destin West.

Camp Gulf – Florida
Camp Gulf is known best for being right on the beach with private access. The beach area gets crowded with canopies, chairs and beach umbrellas, so be sure to get up early to secure your spot. There are two pools, a hot tub, and clean and tidy bath houses. There’s a really tasty ice cream shop on site and a food truck called the Pudgy Pineapple that serves up some great tasting grub.

Santa Rosa RV Resort – Florida
The waterfront sites at Santa Rosa are spectacular. It doesn’t get any better. Definitely get one if you can. Beautiful grounds including night lighting that adds a unique touch to the experience. Also, Navarre Beach is just a bike ride away which is nice for those who want to escape the resort for the afternoon.

Henderson Beach State Park – Florida
For those of you who like staying at state parks, wait until you stay at Henderson Beach State Park. It will amaze you. Be sure to book well in advance, as this place is wildly popular. The $6 access fee helps keep the crowds away and each site is private. It’s everything you want, including close proximity to the snowy white beach, beautiful grounds and a well maintained bath house.

 

10 Hrs from Humble

Ozarks RV Resort – Arkansas
What makes Ozarks really special is Table Rock Lake. Be sure to bring your water toys and be ready to have a lot of fun on the lake. The marina isn’t far away, so renting a boat is a great option for those wanting to get out on the water. There’s plenty to explore and do outside the resort, and plenty to enjoy inside including two pools, a golf course, badminton, croquet, etc.

Wanderlust RV Park – Arkansas
Wanderlust is a classic, beautiful and well maintained RV park. It’s close to town, but far enough away that it’s very quiet. So, if you’re escaping the city and want to hit the road and go relax somewhere, this is a great destination. A couple of things that make Wanderlust unique are the red cardinals and fireflies that hang out in the area. WiFi is fast, so if you want to stream a movie then you’ll have no problem. Also, the trolley route goes right past the park so that’s a fun option to get around.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park – Kansas
For the money, Deer Creek is one of the nicest RV parks you’ll ever stay at. It features paved roads, LONG concrete pad pull throughs and excellent amenities including full hookups, great WiFi and cable. It’s gated, well lit, and spotless. The dog area is huge, there’s a big playground for kiddos, and the pool is nice and well maintained. Great BBQ pit within walking distance. If you’re going to Topeka, or your travels are taking you through the area, then this is a dandy place to catch some rest.

 

30 Minutes from Humble!

Lakeview RV Resort – Houston, TX
We couldn’t leave Lakeview RV Resort off the list, even though it’s practically in our own backyard here in Humble. Lakeview’s a gem, with it’s own private lake, free WiFi, pet friendly atmosphere and plenty of other amenities. It’s close, it’s affordable, it’s a no brainer destination for those looking for a brief and relaxing stay-cation.
